The Gift of an Ordinary Day

1 Jan

Late to the blogging world, I am excited to allow the new year to bring a new opportunity – to capture and preserve the simple moments in life that tend to slip away.  Suggested by an old friend at LetsLassoTheMoon.com, Project 366 involves taking one picture each day (2012 is a leap year) capturing those ordinary moments so that we can look back and appreciate them as extraordinary. I will be posting my photos on Flickr.com and also sometimes here.

Graduations, weddings, and birthdays all invite our cameras to capture staged poses and forced smiles. Why not capture the raw emotions that don’t need an invitation ~ moments that we let slip out the back door like a guest who was under-dressed for the party. For the next year, I am inviting anything and anyone within my view to this party, including myself – the most criticized guest. Bad hair days, muffin-top days, and messy house days are all part of my life and deserve to be remembered just as much as any other special day. Cheers to 2012 and to appreciating every moment.
