Day 17

Venice in Flames, a photo by Angie Friedel on Flickr.

My mom and I went to Venice last year. We bought these candles because they looked remarkable – the way the artist displayed them together, wedged into an aged fence, all aglow. When I got home, I realized they maybe were a bit “touristy.” Kind of like buying an, ” I LOVE NY” t-shirt or an, “I LOVE ROBOT WORLD” t-shirt from the Dells. Nonetheless, I brought it to life tonight, in an effort to give ambiance to my frozen Lean Cuisine lasagna. I’m not sure if the candle helped rid the taste of freezer-burnt preservatives as much as the bottle of fermented grapes I was enjoying, but it was still a pretty sight.
